Richmond Ferry Terminal

Starting January 10, 2019, Richmond will further expand the city’s tradition of being an innovative transportation hub by working in collaboration with the San Francisco Bay Area Water Emergency Transportation Authority (WETA) to  establish a new ferry route between San Francisco Ferry Terminal and the newly constructed ferry terminal in the City of Richmond. Passengers will embark/disembark at the San Francisco terminal and at the terminal on the Ford Peninsula on the City of Richmond's southern waterfront at 1453 Harbour Way South. The terminal is approximately 1.5 miles south of the Richmond downtown core, and will connect Richmond passengers to San Francisco in approximately 30 minutes.

The ferry plans on shepherding around 10,000 commuters daily to relieve commuters from traveling across the Bay Bridge. The four morning and two afternoon ferries will depart to San Francisco every weekday with two morning and four afternoon ferries returning back to the Richmond Ferry terminal.

Ferry Fare: A one-way, adult fare is $9, or $6.75 with a Clipper card. Youth between the ages of 5 and 18, seniors aged 65 and over, and disabled passengers pay $4.50. Kids under 5 years old are free.

Parking: There is free parking with 362 spaces.


Public Transit:
 AC Transit’s 74 bus stops in front of the ferry terminal and Richmond BART station. The 74 bus runs every half-hour, arriving approximately 10 minutes before the ferry departs. The travel time between the Richmond BART station and the ferry terminal is roughly 10 minutes.  There’s a $2.25 discount for riders who take the bus to and/or from the ferry.


Biking:
 Standard bike racks and BikeLink lockers will be available at the terminal. In addition, there will be at least 20 spots for bikes on the ferry.
